Swim Coach will need to be available Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:15-6:45pm and Wednesdays 5:30-6:45pm at the Armbrust YMCA location.
-Greets all members and customers with a smile in a timely, courteous and professional manner.
-Promotes camaraderie between water fitness class participants.
-Answers customers’ questions; routes inquiries as necessary and appropriate.
-Must build relationships among people and proactively gain and retain members.
-Actively promotes strict fitness protocol to include warm up and cool down.
-Attends all required training sessions and scheduled meetings.
-Consistent and vigilant monitoring of the pool; required; anticipates possible hazardous situations and
acts accordingly to prevent occurrence from happening.
-On deck at least 10 minutes prior to class start in appropriate attire, readying equipment and to greet participants. Responds quickly, efficiently, and professionally to any emergency situation; completes necessary paperwork and notifies the appropriate professional staff member.
-Assists with the general maintenance/upkeep of the aquatic facility.
-Enforces all pool rules and regulations promptly and professionally, notifies the appropriate professional on duty staff member of inappropriate behavior of facility users.
-Complies with all items contained in the YMCA’s Lifeguard Policies and Procedures Manual.
-Makes appropriate arrangements for a qualified substitute if unable to attend work.
-All other duties as assigned and necessary.
-Lifeguard, CPR and First Aid Certifications required; Advanced first aid, water safety instruction certification highly desirable.
-Must be at least 18 years of age.
-High School diploma or GED highly desirable.
-Strong background in swimming is a must, experience as an instructor helpful.
-On site attendance is required of this position.
