Overview

Under the direct supervision of the Site Director, the Youth Leader will be responsible for all duties related to the supervision of the teens enrolled, as well as organizing, planning, executing daily activities, and incorporating Character Development (Respect, Honesty, Caring, and Responsibility) and Developmental Assets into the daily routine.

Responsibilities

  • Works under the direct supervision of the Assistant Site Supervisor and is responsible for the care, supervision and well-being of all children/teens enrolled in the program.
  • Executes activities for all enrolled participants.
  • Monitors area to ensure the safety and well-being of all participants providing a positive environment while actively encouraging participation to ensure growth and development.
  • Ensures facility is neat, clean, orderly and free of all safety impediments.
  • Exemplifies and maintains appropriate behavior at all times while actively listening to all.
  • Shows and teaches patience, understanding and respect for others.
  • Develops and fosters interpersonal relationships between participants and actively creates an environment of cooperation and friendliness toward others.
  • Records daily attendance and maintains accurate and complete records.
  • Ensures all supplies are well maintained and readily available.
  • Accomplishes other duties as required and assigned.
  • On-Site attendance is required of this position.

Qualifications

  • Must possess the experience and educational background suitable for the position.
  • Previous experience working with children ages 12-18 preferred.
  • High School Diploma or GED required, some college preferred. Must be at least 18 years of age.
