Overview

Under the direct supervision of the Youth Sports Program Director, the position is responsible for the direct care, organization, supervision and well-being of participants in the youth sports activity.

Responsibilities

  1. Review the site book to familiarize yourself with general rules and safety requirements of the sport.
  2. Provide interpreting and demonstration to children with special needs during sport practices and games.
  3. Exemplify appropriate behavior at all times. Be a role model for participants and parents.
  4. Immediately report all incidents/accidents to appropriate authority. Ensure all applicable and necessary reports are completed in full.
  5. Follow the appropriate and necessary first aid measures to ensure the safety of a victim as well as yourself.
  6. Must adhere to the YMCA dress code, YMCA shirt, name tag and no hats.
  7. Must build relationships among people and pro-actively gain and retain members.
  8. Provide a positive environment for all participants to ensure growth and development.
  9. On-site attendance is required of this position.
  10. Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  1. At least 18 years of age.
  2. Excellent interpersonal and problem solving skills.
  3. Ability to work independently with attention to detail required.
  4. Previous experience working with children is preferred.
  5. Complete prior to date of hire: BLS, CPR, First Aid
  6. Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of
    the community and successful clearance of background check.
